Stick Around
I recently tried this at the Douglas of
Drumlanrig tasting in
The delicate Lowlander character is immediately
recognizable on the nose. A malty heart, barley sugar, lime, touch
of banana and a bit of bubblegum – the good kind (yes, it exists). A
slight alcohol burn, with some pepper.
It is the pepper that pushes through on the
palate. It is slightly oily and nicely sweet on white fruit.
In the medium to long finish, it is primarily the
sweet fruit that remains.
This is a pretty tasty aperitif, that does not
lose any strength, neither on the nose nor the palate, after fifteen
minutes in the glass. This one sticks around.
