If you can help me expand my whisky palate, especially Auchentoshan, get in touch with me. Much obliged!

Damn Sexy
This was one of the first Auchentoshan I ever tried and I must admit that I found it a little too hot to handle at the time and thus did not really appreciate it. But that was many, many years ago. And yet I never went back to it. Fast forward to 2017 and the bottle is handed to me as a birthday gift by friends. I opened it immediately and poured a generous dram. And never looked back.
What a beautiful, layered nose with what I call deep sherry. Cherries, mocha, espresso, chocolate. Very sweet on dark caramel, but also very fruity and not an off-note for miles around. Delicious.
It comes as no surprise that this one burns a bit at first, but once it has settled down on your tongue, you will be rewarded with the spicy notes of black pepper, nutmeg and cloves, which is immediately joined by tangerine, grapefruit, blueberries. Toffee appears. Simply marvelous!
The finish is very long, soft and simply grand. It remains quite spicy till the last.
A wonderful, sexy Auchentoshan that I was unable to appreciate at first, simply for the lack of experience. Now, almost 10 years and 2500 whiskies later, I know better. Much better. This has become one of my favorite Auchentoshan, but alas the bottle is almost empty again…
