If you can help me expand my whisky palate, especially Auchentoshan, get in touch with me. Much obliged!
Auchentoshan
10 Year Old Official Bottling, 1998 Number of bottles: undisclosed ABV : 40% Color : Pale Gold Tasted on 02/12/2009 |
Good, delicate, but lacking depth
I recently had the 12 Year Old and simply couldn't
pass up the chance to taste the 10 Year Old again, albeit from a
miniature. Last time I had this one was in 2008 and I couldn't
remember much about that experience.
This triple distilled Lowlander isn't bad at all.
The nose is very sweet, much like the 12 Year Old.
In fact, it's very similar in all aspects, also on the palate and
the finish.
And yet. Something is missing.
The 12 Year Old was definitely more enchanting to
me. More chewy and with a cleaner nose. Less character in the 10
Year Old.
